TRISHA’S
KITCHEN
Trisha Yearwood’s fans know that she can cook up a comforting, delicious meal that will feed a family! Like her earlier bestsellers, Trisha’s Kitchen will include new family favorites and easy-to-make comfort foods, with stories about her family and what’s really important in life.
The 125 recipes include dishes her beloved mother used to make, plus new recipes like Pasta Pizza Snack Mix and Garth's Teriyaki Bowl. Every recipe tells a story, whether it's her grandma's Million Dollar Cupcakes, or her Camo Cake that she made for her nephew's birthday.
As Trisha says: "I love to cook now more than I ever have, because for me, cooking is about love. It's sharing a meal with family and friends and talking about our lives. It's working out thoughts in my head about what I need to conquer or accomplish while I'm working on a homemade pastry crust. Sometimes the feel of cold butter in my hands working through the flour just makes me see things more clearly."
TRISHA’S
KITCHEN
Easy Comfort Food for Friends & Family
Trisha Yearwood’s passion for good food, and for her family, shines through in TRISHA’S KITCHEN: COMFORT FOOD FOR FRIENDS & FAMILY. I have admired Ms. Yearwood for some time, and have really enjoyed watching her cooking show. Her recipes are just close enough to some of the great food I grew up eating, and cook myself today, yet with differences that will add tasty new changes to mine.
TRISHA’S KITCHEN starts out with a Forward by Trisha’s husband, Garth Brookes. His love for his wife, and her cooking shine through. Next is the author’s lovely introduction, which is followed by a short, but useful section on equipment, & substitutes that will make your cooking experience easier and more enjoyable.
And
of course, there are the recipes. 125 of them!
Here is just a sampling of what you will find . . . Pecan Sticky Buns with Bacon Caramel, Sausage Veggie Breakfast Casserole, Fork and Knife Bacon, Chipotle Chicken Taco-Stuff Potato Skins, Blue Crab & Lemon Pepper Ranch Toast, Janet’s Potato Salad, Kat’s Arancini, Cornbread-Crusted Friend Pork Chops, Chili Mac, Chicken Potpie Burgers, Butter-Basted Fillet of Fish with Salsa Verde, Garth’s Teriyaki Bowl, Grilled Yellow Gazpacho, Homemade Gnocchi with Two Sauces, The Ultimate Veggie Burger, Hot Honey Cornbread, Herbed Crackers, French Mustard Barbecue Sauce, Lemon Pecan Slab Pie, Dessert Pizza, Cream Cheese Pound Cake, and Coconut Cream Pie.
Just about every page has beautiful color photos, which is a must for me in any cookbook. But, the photos don’t just represent the food. There are also lovely images of Ms. Yearwood and her family. I could feel the love and heart that went into it all. It feels to me more like a friend’s recipe file box and photo album. What a wonderful gift for the author to share with us all.
TRISHA’S KITCHEN will be a loved and well used, go to staple in your kitchen, just as I know it will be in mine.
I’d love to have been her taste tester when doing the cookbook!
