Mystery writing lets Peg indulge her curiosity under the guise of "work" (aka research). As a kid, she read the entire set of children's encyclopedias her parents gave her and has been known to read the dictionary. She put pen to paper at age seven when she wrote plays and forced her cousins to perform them at Christmas dinner. She switched to mysteries when she discovered the perfect hiding place for a body down the street from her house.

When she's not writing, she spends her time reading, cooking, spoiling her granddaughter and checking her books' stats on Amazon.

A former Jersey girl, Peg now resides in Michigan with her husband and Westhighland white terrier, Reg. She is the author of the Open Book Series (writing as Margaret Loudon), Murder, She Reported series, the Cranberry Cove series, the Farmer's Daughter series, the Gourmet De-Lite series, the Lucille series and the Sweet Nothings Lingerie series (written as Meg London).

I just know you're going to love Peg's books as much as I do, no matter what pen name she uses!

Sneaky authors!
Turn my back on my blog for a minute and one has taken over my blog!
Well, I can think of worse things happening. 😉

So, your host for the day is author
Julie Moffet!

Hi, everyone! I’m author Julie Moffett and I write two humorous, geeky, mystery series. I’m SO excited be here, and much thanks to Lisa Kelley for letting me takeover her blog today!

As I mentioned, I am currently writing two mystery series. My Lexi Carmichael Mystery Series features 25-year-old geek girl extraordinaire, Lexi Carmichael, who saves the day with her amazing computer skills, logical brain and “nerd herd” of friends. There are currently 12.5 books in the series, with the 13th book in the series, NO ESCAPE, releasing sometime this summer/fall. There are geeks, spies, and hot secret agents. Oh, did I mention Lexi is a trouble magnet with a little black cloud that follows her around? It’s true! She keeps careful track of it on her handy, dandy spreadsheet.

My other series is a young adult spy/mystery series featuring teen hacker and genius, Angel Sinclair. The third book in that series, ONE-KNIGHT STAND is out TODAY! Happy Book Birthday to me! The series is appropriate for ages 11+ (including the young-at-heart!) and is clean, exciting, cozy fun for those who enjoyed Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden with a little updating.

My name is Angel Sinclair and I’m a spy. Well, I’m not actually a spy yet, but I’ve been tapped to train at a top-secret government facility where I’m honing my hacking and technical skills and discovering what it takes to be a top-notch undercover operative. I’m even learning to drive like James Bond. Scary, I know, given that I only have my learner's permit.

I thought my smarts would get me through, but being a spy is a lot harder than I expected. It involves a lot of teamwork, collaboration, and relationships with my peers, which is not my strong suit, but I’m working on it. Still, I thought I was holding my own until I was almost kidnapped, and my long-missing father reappeared, sending top officials in the National Security Agency into a panic.

My family is now being threatened by nefarious forces, and I can’t rely on the authorities to help me. It’s up to me to use what little spy training I’ve received to face a danger so mysterious and embedded, it would test the abilities of even a seasoned operative.

Even though this will be my first mission, I’m certain it will be the most important one of my life. But I can’t do it alone. Will I be able to step up to the challenge and convince my friends to follow me? Or will I fail to make the grade? I’m about to find out if I’ll succeed, or whether this will be my last stand.

In today's author spotlight,
I shine my light on wonderful author
Connie Archer/Di Marco

Connie was born and raised in New England
and loves writing about Vermont.

Under the Connie Archer, Connie wrote one of my favorite series, the
Soup Lover's Mysteries

As Connie Di Marco, the
Zodiac Mysteries

Recipes from Connie can be found in the following books (plus her Soup Lover's Mysteries)

Connie Archer was born and grew up in New England, ice skating on neighborhood ponds, clamming on the beach at Cape Cod and skiing in Vermont. As a schoolgirl, she spent several years wading through Caesar’s Gallic War journals and the twelve books of the Aeneid. During her summers she performed in a children’s theater troupe that traveled the suburbs of Boston, mounting productions in parks and children’s hospitals. After majoring in biology in college, she did an about face and earned a degree in English literature. Since then she’s worked at many different jobs — laboratory technician, cocktail waitress, medical secretary, and dinner theatre actress, to name just a few.

I'm joining Berkley Mystery today
in celebrating the release of
MRS. JEFFERIES DEMANDS JUSTICE
Book 39 in the Victorian Mysteries
by Emily Brightwell

Mrs. Jeffries always keeps her friends close and now must keep an enemy even closer if she is going to catch a killer. . . .

Inspector Nigel Nivens is not a nice man or a good investigator. In fact, he’s terrible at his job and has always done everything he can to make life difficult for Inspector Witherspoon. But even his powerful family can’t help him after he maliciously tried to hobble Witherspoon’s last homicide investigation. He’s been sent to a particularly difficult precinct in the East End of London as penance.

When a paid informant is found shot in an alley, Nivens thinks that if he can crack the case, he’ll redeem himself and have a much-needed chance at impressing his superiors. But there’s one big problem with his plan—Niven’s distinct antique pistol is found at the scene of the crime and even more evidence is uncovered that links the Inspector to the murder.

Despite their mutual dislike for Nivens, Mrs. Jeffries and Inspector Witherspoon know the man isn’t a cold-blooded killer. Now they’ll just have to prove it. . . .

Emily Brightwell was born in the Appalachian mountains of West Virginia. Her family moved to Southern California in 1959 and she grew up in Pasadena. After graduating from California State University Fullerton, she decided to work her way around the world and started in England. She didn't get any further because she met future her husband there, got married and moved back to California. While living in Long Beach, she decided to pursue her dream and become a writer - despite having two children and a full-time job. She began the Mrs. Jeffries series in 1993 with "The Inspector and Mrs. Jeffries" and has written thirty-eight more mysteries in the series in the following twenty-four years. The latest mystery is "Mrs. Jeffries and the Alms of the Angel" - a hardcover - published September 24th 2019. It is now available as a trade paperback. Emily has signed to write three more Mrs. Jeffries mysteries in the coming years..the next title being: "Mrs. Jeffries Demands Justice" coming January 2021.

Now that her children are grown and have left home - Emily and her husband live in Northern Nevada. Her books are also sold in the United Kingdom, Japan, and Hungary. Emily is an Everton FC supporter, loves Korean TV dramas, and baking.
