Charlie knows his daughter is innocent, and  he’s not going to let anyone railroad his little girl. So,  despite his intentions to put his amateur sleuthing days behind him, Charlie has to take center stage, and with Diesel’s help, shine a  spotlight on the real killer.

Charlie and Diesel are back for installment twelve of the Cat in the Stack Mysteries. And with a dozen books under the author’s belt, it’s clear to see that Miranda James know what it takes to keep readers returning for more.

In CARELESS WHISKERS, protagonist Charlie Harris seemed a bit more intense to me than in past books. That stands to reason since it’s his daughter under suspicion of murder. Of course, there’s normally no doubt Charlie and Diesel with get to the bottom of things, but there were times I wondered if they really could this time.

CARELESS WHISPERS was a quick read with a lot of great moments. As it did me, this page turner will keep fans reading much longer then they had intended. So, I recommend clearing a day so you can sit back and enjoy.
