The face of depression isn't always easy to pick from a crowd. The face of bipolar disorder, you can live next door to it, speak to it every day, and never recognize it. The face of mental illness doesn't always scream out to you, "It's me!". Those faces can be anyone. Even me. The face below is the face of depression, bipolar, and panic and anxiety disorder.

I thank God the demons that these diseases bring, that I face every day, have never led me to the place they led Kate Spade, Anthony Bourdain, and not so very long ago Robin Williams. If you face demons of your own, not matter what they are, you are not alone. Reach out to family, friends, doctors, your preacher/church leader. Keep reaching out. And if those demons lead you to that black place they took the three public figures above, take you to the place so any have been led to and you can't find anyone to listen call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. If you or anyone you know is contemplating suicide, call 1-800-273-8255.

  1. God bless! Folks need to remember that medical problems are not always visible. Don't be quick to judge just because we are up, moving around or "seem" to be ok. A kind work or small gesture may be the bright spot in someone's life that is their only lifeline.
