Wow, the fiftieth Murder, She Wrote novel. That number alone tells you more about this series than any review I could ever write. The mystery world loves all things Jessica Fletcher, and the writers who have joined forces with her from book one.

In MURDER, SHE WROTE: A TIME FOR MURDER, author Jon Land takes readers on a journey into the life of a young Jessica Fletcher. It was fascinating seeing the woman she is now in this different light, although still embroiled in a murder mystery. The book does also take place in the present, which makes for a great plotline.

A well written story, MSR: A TIME FOR MURDER is sure to thrill fans of the books and the show. Though true diehard fans I feel can pick up on subtle differences in Jessica’s charter in the last few books written by Land, as opposed to those by Donald Bain. But I think all will agree, they are still our mother’s Murder She Wrote stories, and I think we’ll be saying that for many more books to come.
