Expert clockmaker Ruth Clagan has another murder on her hands in the third Clock Shop Mystery from the author of Clock and Dagger.

Years ago, the serenity of picturesque Orchard, Massachusetts, was shattered by a fire that destroyed the town's beloved clock tower. Ruth inherited the dream of repairing it from her late grandfather. Now that she’s returned home to run his clock shop, the Cog & Sprocket, she’s determined to make it happen, despite wrenches that are being thrown into the works by her least favorite person, town manager Kim Gray.

A crowd of residents and visitors are excited to see the progress of the tower at a fund-raiser for the campaign, until Kim is found crushed under the tower’s bell, putting an end to all the fun. The list of suspects is so long it could be read around the clock, and it includes some of Ruth’s nearest and dearest.

Time's a-wastin’ as Ruth tries to solve another murder in her beloved Orchard while keeping the gears clicking on her dream project.

HARDCOVER

In the new Royal Spyness Mystery from the New York Times bestselling author of Crowned and Dangerous, Lady Georgiana Rannoch juggles secret missions from the Queen, Darcy, and her mother. But it’s all in a day’s work when you’re thirty-fifth in line to the British Crown.

When Darcy runs off on another secret assignment, I am left to figure out how to travel to Italy sans maid and chaperone to help my dear friend Belinda, as she awaits the birth of her baby alone. An opportunity presents itself in a most unexpected way—my cousin the queen is in need of a spy to attend a house party in the Italian lake country. The Prince of Wales and the dreadful Mrs. Simpson have been invited, and Her Majesty is anxious to thwart a possible secret wedding.

What luck! A chance to see Belinda and please the queen as I seek her permission to relinquish my claim to the throne so I can marry Darcy. Only that’s as far as my good fortune takes me. I soon discover that Mummy is attending the villa party and she has her own secret task for me. Then, Darcy shows up and tells me that the fate of a world on the brink of war could very well depend on what I overhear at dinner! I shouldn’t be all that surprised when one of my fellow guests is murdered and my Italian holiday becomes a nightmare...

Lady Georgiana Rannoch knows nothing is simple when you’re thirty-fifth in line for the British crown, but her upcoming marriage proves to be the ultimate complication in the tenth mystery in the New York Times bestselling Royal Spyness series.
As Lady Georgiana's beloved Darcy drives her out of London, she soon discovers that he isn’t planning to introduce her to the pleasures of sinning in secret—as she had hoped—but to make her his wife!

Of course, she'll need special permission from the king to marry a Roman Catholic. Though he will inherit a title, Darcy is as broke as Georgie. Even his family’s Irish castle has been sold to a rich American who now employs his father.

Nothing will deter them from their mission—except perhaps the news that Georgie's future father-in-law has just been arrested for murdering the rich American. With the elopement postponed, they head for Ireland, where the suspect insists he’s innocent, and it’s up to them to prove it—for better or worse.

ADDRESSED TO KILL
Book 3 in the Postmistress Mysteries
by Jean Flowers

Third in the Postmistress Mystery series by Jean Flowers, following Death Takes Priority and Cancelled by Murder...

Love is in the air for postmaster Cassie Miller and the residents of North Ashcot, Massachusetts. Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and the town is gearing up for a special dinner dance at the senior center. With the local musical group performing at the dance displaced from their regular practice location, Cassie is all too happy to host them during off-hours at the post office.

But not everything is coming up roses. When one of the musicians, Dennis Somerville, is found shot in his home, rumors swirl over who might have wanted him dead. Cassie must determine if there is a link between a string of recent break-ins and Dennis's murder before another victim winds up with more than a broken heart.

MY REVIEW

ADDRESSED TO KILL is a priority read. A genuine special delivery.

Waiting for this third installment in the Postmistress Mysteries felt slower than waiting for my mail! But the saying is true . . . Good things come to those who wait.

While I have loved my past visits to Ashcot, Massachusetts, author Jean Flowers has outdone herself, and once again written a cozy mystery I couldn’t tare myself away from, reading it in one sitting. Getting to spend time with series lead and postmistress, Cassie Miller, and all of the fun, kooky, cool townsfolk, was more wonderful than ever.
From cover to cover, ADDRESSED TO KILL was exciting, fun, and informative. Fast paced, with as many twists and turns as an old country road, it held my complete attention throughout. With never a dull moment, I was laughing out loud one minute, then sitting on the edge of my seat the next. A very clever murder led to a surprising reveal. And just when thought it was done, author Flowers threw in an ending that perfectly finished the book off.

And don’t you dare close ADDRESSED TO KILL without reading the Post Office Stories, and other fun tidbits at the end!

MUFFIN TO FEAR
Book 5 in the Merry Muffin Mysteries
by Victoria Hamilton

In the latest from the national bestselling author of Much Ado About Muffin, newlywed baker Merry Wynter has some unwanted guests looking for ghosts at Wynter Castle…

It all goes from bad to worse when the show's psychics claim to have contact with people murdered on Merry's property. When two cast members are found dead, Merry and Virgil must figure out who’s picking off the Haunt Hunt team before their hard-earned happily ever after is cut short.

INCLUDES DELICIOUS RECIPES!

MY REVIEW

Anything written by author Victoria Hamilton is a go to, must read book for me. And the Merry Muffin Mysteries may be the yummiest of them all.

I’ve been waiting for, MUFFIN TO FEAR about as patiently as I would for a delightful treat baking away in my oven, which equals not very patient at all! ;-) I was so excited when I read the blub for this book. TV ghost hunters at Wynter Castle? YAY! (Yes, I am one of those people who loves watching all of the ghost hunting shows on TV). However, author Hamilton took the excitement of searching for spirits a step further by killing off two of the cast members of the show. Talk about exciting!

This 5 star mystery started off on a delightful note, and had me running a gambit of emotions until the last page. From the joy of Merry and Virgil’s marriage, to the rowdy upheaval of having the TV crew looking for ghosts, through the shock of two murders and the investigation that followed, and a scene that had me sighing contentedly, I honestly did laugh and cry from the prologue to the last chapter.

Muffin should stand in your way of reading MUFFIN TO FEAR, the best in the Merry Muffin Mysteries so far!

And don’t forget to check out the delicious recipes at the back of the book. Mmm Mmm.

WRONG SIDE OF THE PAW
Book 6 in the Bookmobile Cat Mysteries
by Laurie Cass

As Laurie Cass continues the national bestselling Bookmobile Cat mystery series, librarian Minnie Hamilton is happy to take her bookmobile for a spin with her rescue cat, Eddie—but her tenacious tabby always seems to find trouble...

As the bookmobile rolls along the hills of Chilson, Michigan, Minnie and Eddie spread good cheer and good reads. But when her faithful feline finds his way into the middle of a murder, Minnie is there, like any good librarian, to check it out.

Eddie turns a routine bookmobile stop into anything but when he makes a quick escape and hops into a pickup truck…with a dead body in the flatbed. The friendly local lawyer who was driving the pickup falls under suspicion. But Minnie and Eddie think there's more to this case than meets the eye, and the dynamic duo sets out to leave no page unturned.

MY REVIEW

Minnie Hamilton and furry sidekick, Eddie are back and driving their bookmobile right into another murder.

I have truly enjoyed this series since the first book, LENDING A PAW. I’ve always wanted to drive a bookmobile, so that may be how protagonist Winnie, and her cat, Eddie wormed their way into my heart so quickly.

Author Laurie Cass devised a strong plot for this sixth book in the Bookmobile Cat Mysteries. WRONG SIDE OF THE PAW was another great tail . . . I mean tale, with action and mayhem throughout most of the book. As with the other books in the series, there were also some funny scenes that had me smiling all the way through them.

WRONG SIDE OF THE PAW was a bit longer than most cozy mysteries put out by this publisher. I’m sure that will make many readers happy. All in all, a good tight mystery, with a satisfying conclusion. And be on the lookout for a happy surprise in the next to last chapter.

One thing I did miss in this book was a dedication, and acknowledgements. I seriously doubt this will bother many, but I never miss reading them in a book.

  1. Is it Muffin to Fear or Muffin but Fear? (Both titles are mentioned in the review.) Sounds delicious either way!
