More than 175 incredible recipes

Those who follow my cookbook reviews know that I like to throw old titles in with the new. Having been published in 2005, THE CAKE MIX BIBLE is one such book. You can still find this title through online sources, or maybe even on a bookstore bargain table. Wherever you find it, BUY IT!

There’s something to be said about baking from scratch. But once or two (or dozens), we need to whip up something fast. This book is the way to go. It’s not just for cakes. You can make all sorts of things. Even cookies!

The introduction of THE CAKE MIX BIBLE is twenty-four pages of instructions and helpful hint. Things such as measuring dry and liquid, all the different types of cake pans and how to prepare them, trimming, storing, freezing, piping, frosting, garnishes. If you can think of it, it’s covered.

Three hundred and twenty pages make up eight beautiful color photo paged chapters. Chapters that include Classic Cakes, Just for Kids, Cupcakes & Such, The Cookie Jar, Incredible Bars, Delightful Desserts, Special Occasions, and Holiday Treats!

I love everything about THE CAKE MIX BIBLE! Everything. The recipes, the photos, the helpful information, the quality of the pages. Seriously, the pages of this hardcover book are heavy, meant to last pages. This book will hold up to stains, and time!

Just a few of the recipes you find are, Fudge Ribbon Cake, Refreshing Lemon Cake, Sock-It-To-Me Cake, Flapjack Party Stack, Ice Cream Cone Cakes, Banana Split Cake, Boston Babies, Lemon Poppy Seed Cupcakes, Caramel Apple Cupcakes, Chocolate Almond Biscotti, Coconut Clouds Cookies, Orange Pecan Gems Cookies, Strawberry Streusel Squares, Sweet Walnut Maple Bars, Chocolate Chip Cheesecake, Pumpkin Pie Crunch, Chocolate Petits Fours, Josephine’s Tea Cakes, Shower Them With Kisses Cake, Firecrackers for the Fourth, Easy Egg Nog Pound Cake, and oh so many more!

You’re going to want to bake every chance you get once you have your own copy of THE CAKE MIX BIBLE!

Didn’t I tell you it was amazing? Check out the photos below of the recipes I mentioned above.

The photos in the book are much clearer than these.

  1. Thanks, Lisa! The photos look like yummy delights, to me. Happy Thursday!

  2. Although I do bake from scratch a lot, there are a lot more times when both time constraints and ease that I grab a cake mix to start with. THE CAKE BOOK BIBLE sounds amazing and definitely something I would put to very good use. After all, it's the final result that we are looking for. If you can end up with both a gorgeous and delicious result, isn't that the goal we all have!

Thank you for the opportunity to win a copy of the cool book.
