MURDER NEW YORK STYLE
FAMILY MATTERS
Come meet the relatives in Family Matters: Murder New York Style. These twenty short stories by members of the New York / Tri-State chapter of Sisters in Crime are as diverse in theme and mood as the city itself. They take us from the explosive excitement of the New York City Marathon to a secret cellar in Queens; from the warmth of an immigrant culture to the moneyed New York art world; from brutality and poverty to Wall Street's privileged thugs. What the families have in common is this: their lives have been changed forever by crime. Motives? The usual: jealousy and greed, rage and revenge, self-protection and politics, secrets and lies. No Metrocard or E-ZPass required to tour these neighborhoods.
These urban short stories offer action-packed murder and suspense-filled mystery ranging in tone from fun to dark and in genre from cozy to noir. The amateur sleuths, police officers, private investigators, and female protagonists who grapple with crime in this anthology are richly drawn and engagingly authentic.
NOTE: The mysteries in this anthology are not cozies.
Let's get to unmashing those cozy titles!

GOOD LUCK!
I already have this book (and, yes, the mysteries are NOT cozies). The great thing is they're short stories.
ReplyDeleteI love short stories, Pat. And I love that this anthology has some authors who also write cozies!
DeleteIt helps when the books are written by some of my favorite authors!
ReplyDeleteLocal writers groups, especially mystery writers, are great resources.
Exactly!
DeleteI look forward to Mondays and your Monday Mashups. They keep my mind sharp and clicking on all cylinders. Thanks for such fun puzzles. robeader53@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteThank you, Robin. I'm so happy you enjoy them!
DeleteI love short story collections! Thank you for the chance!
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Betty!
DeleteI love Kathi Daley and her Zoe Donovan series. Her book Romeow and Juliet is equally delightful. Caitlin Hart's character reminds me of Nancy Drew only in an adult stage. Throw in cats and dogs and I'm in love.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to starting Kathi's new series and congratulations on your two recent wins.
