I'm trying something new today and joining in on The Friday 56.
The Friday 56 hosted by Freda's Voice is where you grab a book and turn to page 56 (or 56% of an ebook), find one or more interesting sentences (no spoilers), and post them.

What better way for me to start than with a book from a series that started my love for cozy mysteries, The Cupcake Bakery Mystery series.
My first Friday 56 is from the print version of SUGAR AND ICED by Jenn McKinlay.

"For Destiny's sixteenth birthday, her mother gave her bolt-ons", Ginny whispered in a voice that still managed to carry across the lobby.

"What?" Mel asked. "What does that even mean?"

Ginny held her free hand in front of her chest and made a gesture like screwing on the lid of a jar. "You know, bolt-ons."

LOL...You can always count on Jenn McKinlay for something sassy and funny in one of her books.

I hope you enjoyed my first Friday 56. Be sure to check back for my next one!

    1. Yvonnne, it's my favorite series. There were already a few out when I started reading and I read them all before I would move on to a new series. LOL They can't publish them fast enough for me!

  8. I am on Facebook with everyone one of the authors listed but I do not Tweet so unfortunately cannot enter that way. I am so glad than Jen's book is being offered on Friday as I really do love print books and don't have this one in the series yet. What a great giveaway Lisa. For over 8 weeks I have had to be off my feet (in bed) for 23 hours a day and it could be many months more so having books to keep reading are one of my salvations. Thank you for hosting this lovely giveaway. I would love to be the recipient of one of these book gifts that is for sure. Thanks so much. Cynthia
