BOOK TOUR

I'm thrilled to be a stop on the book tour for
THREE WIDOWS AND A CORPSE
Book 3 in the Food Blogger Mysteries
by Debra Sennefelder

Food blogger Hope Early finds one item not on her scavenger hunt list—a dead husband . . .

Between developing her food blog, Hope at Home, and choosing low-cal recipes for a feature in Cooking Now! magazine, Hope has a full plate. Still, she’s never too busy to compete in a Jefferson, Connecticut, tradition—the town’s annual scavenger hunt.

But as she races with her team to check off the next item, Hope discovers a grisly surprise—the body of shady real estate developer Lionel Whitcomb, shot in a parking lot. His wife Elaine, who’s also in the hunt, gasps and nearly faints. But two other women on the scene cry out that their husband is dead.

It turns out this louse of a spouse was more than a little lax in legally divorcing his former wives. Did one of them put a bullet in the bigamist? Number one suspect and number three wife Elaine begs Hope to investigate. Now Hope is on a new kind of hunt—for a cold-hearted killer and triple widow-maker . . .

Includes Recipes from Hope’s Kitchen!

A WORD WITH DEBRA

LKBR:  Thank you for being here today, Debra!
DS: I’m thrilled to be here today to talk about my newest release, THREE WIDOWS AND A CORSPE.

LKBR: Please tell us a bit about you, and your book/series.
DS: I live in Connecticut with my family and where I write full-time now. In 2016 I sold the Food Blogger mystery series to Kensington Publishers. THREE WIDOWS AND A CORSPE is the third book in the series, but each book can be read as a standalone. The series features food blogger Hope Early. She’s recently returned to her hometown of Jefferson, Connecticut after leaving her magazine job and appearing on a baking competition show. She’s found that going back to the place where you started isn’t always easy, so she’s finding her footing as she is drawn into WORD.

LKBR: Any hints or spoilers you can give us about your next book?
DS: The fourth book in the series, which I just finished writing, focuses on a twenty year old missing person’s case. The woman’s daughter, a high school friend of Hope’s, returns to Jefferson determined to find out what happened to her mother and asks Hope to help her.

LKBR: Have you ever written a scene that you loved but had to remove it for the sake of the story?
DS: I’ve removed scenes because they didn’t move the story forward. I can’t say that I loved those scenes. Luckily, my favorite scenes have remained in the books.

LKBR: Have you ever gotten reader’s block? Just find it hard to get into reading because you are so into your writing?
DS: No, that’s hasn’t happened to me. It sounds horrible. I hope I never experience it because I love reading so much. There are so many great books in my TBR!

LKBR: Are there any magazines/publications that as a writer you subscribe to? Are these or others something readers could also benefit from?
DS: The only magazines about writing and the writing business are from the organizations that I belong to. Sisters In Crime, Thriller Writers of America, Women Fiction Writers.

LKBR: Is there anything you would give up if you thought it would make you an even better writer?
DS: What an interesting question. I’ve already given up gardening so I can spend more time writing. I don’t know if it’s made me a better writer or not. I’ve made peace with the weeds.

LKBR: Any new projects in the works?
DS: I’m turning in the fourth book in the series in a matter of weeks. The fourth book in the series, which I just finished writing, focuses on a twenty year old missing person’s case. The woman’s daughter, a high school friend of Hope’s, returns to Jefferson determined to find out what happened to her mother and asks Hope to help her.
I’m also preparing for the release of a new book in my second series, the Resale Boutique Mystery series. SILENCED IN SEQUINS releases on January 7, 2020.

LKBR: If you could ask your readers 3 questions, what would they be?
DS : I’d love to know how they discovered my books, what beverage they prefer to drink while reading and how they feel about reviews.

LKBR: Thank you so much, Debra for letting us get to know you better!

MY REVIEW

I was so happy to be back with food blogger, Hope Early. As a blogger myself, I can relate to Hope. I think she and I would be fast friends. Well, as long as she’s the one that keeps finding the bodies. ;-)

THREE CORPSES AND A WIDOW is the third installment in the Food Blogger Mysteries, and in my opinion the best. Since the first two books were phenomenal I wouldn’t have thought it was possible, but it’s true.

Read in one sitting, this page turner of a tale is just what I look for in a book. Wonderful characters, a great setting, and a story I can’t tear myself away from. I was bummed when I had finished it. My hands are already itching to get ahold of the next book!

Debra Sennefelder has been a go to author since I read her first book, and when you read, THREE WIDOWS AND A CORPSE, you’ll know why.
