Today I'm joining #BerkleyMystery
in celebrating author
Kate Carlisle
and her June 26 release of
BURIED IN BOOKS
Book 12 in the Bibliophile Mysteries

In the latest in this New York Times bestselling series, matrimony and murder collide as San Francisco book-restoration expert Brooklyn Wainwright walks down the aisle...
Brooklyn has it all covered. She’s triple-checked her wedding to-do list, and everything is on track for the upcoming ceremony with the love of her life, security expert Derek Stone.

Not everyone has been as lucky in love as Brooklyn. Her old college roommates Heather and Sara lost touch twelve years ago when Sara stole Heather’s boyfriend. Brooklyn was caught in the middle and hasn’t seen her former besties since their falling-out. When they both show up at her surprise bridal shower, Brooklyn is sure drama will ensue. But she’s touched when the women seem willing to sort out their differences and gift her rare copies of The Three Musketeers and The Red Fairy Book.

Brooklyn’s prewedding calm is shattered when one of her formerly feuding friends is found murdered and Brooklyn determines that one of the rare books is a forgery. She can’t help but wonder if the victim played a part in this fraud, or if she was targeted because she discovered the scam. With a killer and con artist on the loose, Brooklyn and Derek—with the unsolicited help of their meddling mothers—must catch the culprit before their big day turns into a big mess.

MY REVIEW

While I haven’t read every book in the Bibliophile Mystery series, I’ve read the four books before this one. I enjoyed each one for different reasons, but I enjoyed them all because of the talented writing of author Kate Carlisle. She certainly knows her stuff.

One of the things I loved about BURIED IN BOOKS is the discovery of the victim didn’t happen until well into the story. Ms. Carlisle has done this in many of her books. I know a lot of readers like the murder to happen very early in the book, but I enjoy getting to know the victim first.

BURIED IN BOOKS has everything fans of this series are looking for. Mystery, excitement, humor, great characters, romance and more. How can you go wrong?

  2. I've read all the books in this series-via the library. We are currently #25 on the waiting list. Can't wait. But winning a copy would be awesome.

  3. Fortunate enough to have read this book and LOVED it! I agree with you in that she is an awesome author. I, too, enjoyed not having the murder within the first few pages of the book. I highly recommend "BURIED IN BOOKS" to anyone that loves a great, well written cozy mystery.

  4. Kate Carlisle is a new-to-me author. The books of this series sound fascinating. I can get some of her books at my library and Buried in Books has a request so I'm sure it will be some time before that gets to our little library but winning a copy would be much faster!
