In the first ever crossover episode, Zak and Zoe join forces with Hawaiian visitors Luke and Lani, to find out who killed a historian visiting Ashton Falls in order to find a treasure map left by his grandfather a hundred years earlier. Meanwhile, Ellie and Levi move in with Zak and Zoe while the boathouse is being renovated and Alex helps Ellie prepare the nursery for baby Eli who is due to be born any day. Throw in some humor and Easter fun and you have a Zak and Zoe crossover mystery.

Your finished pie will vary in appearance

Crust:

¼ cup light corn syrup
2 tbs. brown sugar
3 tbs. butter
2½ cups Rice Krispies cereal

Combine corn syrup, brown sugar, and butter in saucepan.
Cook over medium heat until it boils. Pour over Rice Krispies.
Stir together and then press into buttered pie plate.

Topping:

½ cup peanut butter
½ cup chocolate fudge sauce
3 tbs. corn syrup
(Note: I often make extra topping and pile it on thick. It’s up to you.)

Mix together and spread half on piecrust.
   Layer in softened ice cream.
I use vanilla, but coffee or chocolate works as well.
Spread other half of topping over top.

Freeze for 2–3 hours.

Oh my goodness. Yum!
Now I want some ice cream!

My Book Beginnings

The sun shining through the bedroom window gave evidence to the fact that it was going to be a sunny spring day. I glanced at my husband, Zak Zimmerman, who was snoring softly beside me before slipping quietly out of bed.

My Friday 56

Okay, that was surprising. What was the man doing out on the lake at six o’clock in the morning?

“Given the timeline,” Ethan continued, “do you think ____ ___ ______ is actually the one who killed him?”

“____? No. Why would you say that?”

Ethan didn’t answer, but I thought he must be sorting things out in his own mind. “I don’t know,” he finally said. “I guess I’m just tired and looking for answers. The alteration in the timeline has me imagining all sorts of strange scenarios.”

GOOD LUCK!
