Thank you for coming back today!

I hope you've been enjoying my questions. I was wondering, is there a question you'd like to ask me? I'd be happy to answer!

Today I'm going thrifting for items that are fun, unique, vintage, and more, to sell on eBay and in my Etsy store! I'm tired already! LOL

Make sure to come back each day while I'm gone. I'm going to have question waiting for you everyday. Every day leave a comment with your answer to that day's question. When I get back, I'll read all the responses, and randomly pick a winner for a surprise gift.
Winner will be chosen by
November 14th.

NOTE: Please remember, comments are moderated. They will not be posted until I have read and approved them. I don't do this to stop any of my readers from posting, I do it to weed out Spam.

    1. Thanks for the question! I do have brothers. I am 1 of 8 children. In order of age. . . Sandy, Jimmy, Tommy, Larry, Norma, Darlene, Lisa, Tammie. My brother, Larry, passed away 5 years ago from brain cancer. I mention my sisters Darlene and Tammie more often because we're the ones always taking road trips. While I love all of my siblings, we three girls are very close. Also, Tammie and I share a house.

  2. Have fun, Lisa! Hope you find treasures.

How long did you manage a bookstore and would you do it, again? (We book lovers think that would be a dream job)

    1. Hey, Pat! I managed the bookstore about 4 years. While my sister, Darlene, managed a Waldenbooks right across the mall from me, I managed a smaller store from a private owned company. Honestly, I wouldn't want to just work in another bookstore. I want to own my own bookstore! It is a dream job for sure.

  3. What is the most unique item you have sold? I don't mean the one you made the most from, but what was so strange you wondered if you would sell it and were surprised/thrilled when you did.

My most unusual thing I've sold at a garage sale was two pair of false teeth. My parents thought I could sell anything and when if they heard I was working towards having a sale, they worked hard to find something I won't be able to sell. After selling the teeth, they pretty much gave up on stumping me. :)

    1. Hi, Kay! The most unique item I've sold was one part of a two part ashtray. I had no idea what it was when I bought it. I found it at the Goodwill for $3.99. It was dated 1926 (two years before my parents were born) and it was signed. It looked like a soap dish that would be attached to a wall. Through research I discovered it was the bottom half of an ashtray. The top half would have been a holder for the matches that may have also had a striker attached. My $3.99 investment turned into a $104.00 sale! The best part is, it was made in Germany and it sold to a gentleman in Germany who is a Bürgermeister, which is an office held in Germany somewhere above the title of what would be a Mayor for us. I didn't stop smiling for days! Not just over the money, but that was very nice, but because of the story I now have of that piece.

    1. Lori, I ended up staying in home and in bed most of the day. :-( So, this weekend, I am for sure going to try something new, and I will make sure to let you all know what it was and how I liked it!

  5. Do you prefer to read with an e-reader or do you prefer to read an actual book?

    1. Peggy, book, BOOK, B O O K! eReaders have afforded me the chance to read books I otherwise couldn't have, and the are great for those with vision problems, but I am happiest when I have a print book in my hands. Although, I feel like maybe I should start planting trees, or give to an org that does. How about you? Print or eBook?

    1. That's like a mother being asked to pick her favorite child! LOL I love Kit-Kat bars. And if we're talking straight up candy you can only get during Halloween, it is Candy Corn. I try and stay away from them though, because I will eat them until I get sick!

  8. OH MY LISA, I have so many questions I could ask you. Some questions I have for you are:
What's your favorite Halloween Costume and Favorite Halloween Candy?
Do you just blog about books or a little a bit of everything(what's ever on your mind)?
What was your favorite part of your vacation?
What was your favorite food you had on vacation?
Are you a published writer yourself(meaning have you written and published any books)?

    1. My favorite Halloween costume was the witch costume I worn back in my early 20s. I friend made it for me, and I had so much fun in it! I was also a ghost bride once, and that was fun.

I love Kit-Kat bars. If we're candy you can only get during Halloween, it is Candy Corn. I will eat them until I get sick!

My blog started out, and is 95% about books. I fell in love with cozy mysteries, and they were all I talked about. My sister, Tammie, suggested I start a blog. I had no idea what I was doing, but I gave it a try, and here we are! Slowly I started adding in some cookbook reviews because so many of readers love culinary mysteries. So, I thought cookbooks, which I love, would be a good addition. And then I've added some off topic days. They are a way to share a bit more about myself while getting to learn more about you!

My favorite part was going to a place called Sight & Sound in Lancaster, PA and seeing a performance of, Queen Esther, the story of Esther from the Bible. Oh my, it was fabulous! I had never been to Sight & Sound before, but had heard some many wonderful things about it. besides the stage, the left and right hand walls of the theater were also part of the set. You never know where you'd see an actor. And there were live animals! I had a beautiful white horse walk done the isle so close to my seat, I could have reached out and touch it.
I didn't eat anything exciting on the trip. Honestly, my favorite thing was a ham and cheese sandwich. LOL we 99% of the time take a cooler with us on trips and have it filled with cold drinks, sandwich fixings, fruit, all sorts of things.

I am not an author. I would love to be, but I haven't figured out how to get the ideas from my head, through my fingers, and on to paper. So, I read and review the wonderful books of others!

      Thank you for the questions!

  9. Well there must be gremlins in the comment section. I left a comment yesterday and now it is gone. HMMMM anyway, my question was for you four fold - Did you have a great time out with your sisters? Did you try a new food? Did you like it? Would you try something again?

    1. Hi, Lori. I always have a great time with my sisters! I didn't get to go the other day because I wasn't feeling well. I'm going to try a new food this weekend! I "may", if I have the opportunity, try 2 new things this weekend. :-)
