Local Woman Found Dead
By Tiffany Reed
Cherry Hills Courant Crime reporter

The body of Hilda Tinsdale, a lifelong Cherry Hills resident, was found in her apartment earlier this week by her neighbor, Katherine Harper. Kat was alerted that something wasn't right when she spotted Matilda, Mrs. Tinsdale's cat, on her doorstep. When she went to return the cat, she discovered Mrs. Tinsdale and evidence of a struggle. "I just don't know who would do such a thing," Kat told us when we managed to catch up to her. "But I'm going to find out."

Mrs. Tinsdale was well known around Cherry Hills for her animal advocacy efforts as treasurer of the local nonprofit Furry Friends Foster Families (4F), and today the animal rescue community is mourning their loss. 4F president Imogene Little is calling Mrs. Tinsdale's death "a horrendous tragedy" and hopes her killer is brought to justice soon.

The Cherry Hills Police Department is asking anyone with information on Mrs. Tinsdale's murder to contact Detective Andrew Milhone, who is leading the investigation. When asked who was on the suspect list, Detective Milhone's only comment was that "Everyone in Mrs. Tinsdale's social circle is being looked at closely."

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Tinsdale's daughter asks that community members please send donations to Furry Friends Foster Families.

How do you decide on a pseudonym?

    1. Hi, Libby! I write stand-alone mysteries under my real name too, but they're not very popular. When I started this series, I debated over whether to publish them under my real name or to use a pen name. In the end, I decided I'd rather keep the books separate, mostly so I could have a fresh start with this series. I remember considering several names, but I honestly can't remember why I finally settled on Paige Sleuth. At any rate, I'm glad I chose the path I did, because Paige ended up becoming much more popular than me! –Marla (aka Paige Sleuth)

    1. Animal rescue is a cause close to my heart, and I'm so thankful this series is popular enough that I can help support a wonderful local organization here in Las Vegas. And thanks so much for telling your sister about my books and helping to spread the word! Without readers (and bloggers like Lisa) who are willing to share, we authors wouldn't be able to do what we love. –Marla (aka Paige Sleuth)
