FAT CAT TAKES THE CAKE
Book 3 in the Fat Cat Mysteries
by Janet Cantrell
Quincy the butterscotch tabby has a talent for sniffing out sweets—and uncovering crimes—in this Fat Cat mystery from the national bestselling author of Fat Cat Spreads Out.
When their former classmate Richard “Dickie” Byrd throws a high school reunion to gather support for his mayoral campaign, it drums up some not-so-sweet memories for dessert shop proprietor Chase Oliver and her friend Julie Larson. Julie would rather not reconnect with Ron North, the creepy kid who had a crush on her back in the day. His social graces haven’t exactly improved with age, but is he creepy enough to kill?
The next day, Chase is in the park testing a new cat harness for Quincy, who quickly proves that he cannot be leashed. But when his escape leads Chase to Ron’s body, the police wonder who else got away. Now, with Julie suspected of murder, Chase must prove her innocence before the real killer plans another fatal reunion.

MY REVIEW
It’s no Qunicy-dense that the Fat Cat Mystery series is the
cat’s meow with readers!
Author Janet Cantrell has penned another fun, and fast
moving mystery. FAT CAT TAKES THE CAKE is the most delectable installment in
this series so far. So wonderfully written, readers will truly feel a part of
the story, and become completely wrapped up in this book at the intriguing mystery
unfolds.
With a well thought out plot, a great cast of characters,
which includes fat cat Qunicy himself, I found myself not only laughing out
loud, but quickly turning one page after the other in anticipation of the next
mystery building scene.
FAT CAT TAKES THE CAKE will make a fantastic addition to
every cozy mystery reader’s collection.
Make sure to take a look in the back of the book for a yummy
recipe, and leash-training tips for cats!

MY REVIEW
Author Eva Gates delights with this newest installment in
her Lighthouse Library Mystery series!
What could be better than a library? A library in a
lighthouse! And what could be better than that? The writing of Eva Gate telling
the story of said lighthouse library!
In this splendid addition to her wonderful series, Ms. Gates
manages to outshine the first two books in the series. A clever plot, and
brilliant writing are in store for you when you read, READING UP A STORM. With
a shipwreck, and murder being just the beginning of this multi-layered mystery,
I have no doubt you’ll be as ensconced in the story as I was. There were
actually points where I found myself holding my breath!
READING UP A STORM, indeed the entire Lighthouse Library
series is one every mystery fan should read.
And just a bit of fun for
me...In the Author’s Notes at the beginning of the book, author Gates mentions
the real Bodie Island Lighthouse is much smaller inside than her fictional
description. Of the Bodie Island Lighthouse in her series the author says…”I
like to think of it as my version of the Tardis from the TV show Doctor Who.” If
you hadn’t already won me over with your wonderful writing Ms. Gates, you
certainly won me over with the Doctor Who reference. J

I thank you for your review of Susan Wittig Albert's new book. I agree with you! she is an auto buy for me. Not only are the stories tightly crafted, the characters real but I always learn so much from her. I've read every one of her books!
