Today I am featuring a blogger/reviewer who has been so wonderful to get to know.
I know you all love meeting her too.
Mary Brown
of

LKBR: Hi Mary. Thank you so much for being here today.

MB: Thanks Lisa for inviting me, I really appreciate it.

LKBR: I know of course you are a big reader now. Did you read a lot when you were a child? If so, what did you like to read?

MB: Yes, I have liked to read for as long as I can remember. When I was young, I would walk to the library that was just down the street from my house. I would sit and stamp the cards that the librarians would use for the return date (obviously that was a long time ago). I loved to read mysteries, like Nancy Drew, teen romance and books about nurses.

LKBR: Bookstores, on-line shopping, or libraries . . . which is your favorite way to acquire your books?

MB: Libraries first, I truly love being in a library. Whenever I would take my children there for story hour, I would feel calm and relaxed. My ideal job would have me working in a library. Next would be online. I have not been inside a bookstore for a very long time.

LKRB: What is one of your favorite reading spots other than your home?

MB: It used to be outside in nice warm weather. Now I would say at my grandchildren’s house while my grandson is sleeping.

LKBR: I know you’re a cozy mystery reader like I am. What other genres do you enjoy?

MB: I enjoy most genres: mystery, suspense, women’s fiction, light romance, paranormal cozies, search and rescue and horror.

LKBR: How long have you been a blogger/reviewer?

MB: I believe it has been a little over a year.

LKBR: What inspired you to start your own blog?
MB: I love to read and I respect authors so much and I thought that having a blog would help the authors by letting others know about their books.

LKBR: What is your favorite part, other than the reading, of being a
blogger/reviewer?

MB: Knowing that I am helping spread the word on the great books that I read. I love when someone visits the blog and leaves me a comment, that is such a great feeling.

LKBR: Do you have a set time that your work on your blog? Or is it a matter of you do it when you can?

MB: Whenever I have the time. Sometimes I have more time to read than to write reviews or post on the blog, so sometimes I am posting a few reviews on the blog the same day.

LKBR: When you’re not reading, and working on reviews and your site, what do you like to do?

MB: Spend time with my grandchildren and my family.

LKBR: What are three things you would like people to know about you?

MB: Next month my husband and I will be celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary.

I have 2 married children, a daughter-in-law and son-in-law, 2 grandchildren and 4 grandpuppies. 2 grandpuppies are puggles and 2 are miniature dachshunds, one of which is deaf.

I am a retired nurse, so maybe those teenaged books I read helped shape my career path.

LKBR: Mary, thank you for your great answers!

MB: Thank you so much Lisa for inviting me. I hope people will stop by my blog, like what they see and come back often.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know Mary.
Be sure to stop be her blog!

  7. I don't know how I missed this interview, and I'm glad that I saw it today. Lisa Kelley and Mary Brown are my two favorite book reviewers. You both do a great job getting the word out about authors' novels. I appreciate you both very much.

    Loved the interview!
