It's
THROWBACK THURSDAY!
Ready to learn about a new old series?

Today I am featuring a series that isn't a throwback at all. As a matter of fact, this newest title in the series came out just this year.

I'm talking about
the Sweet Nothings Vintage Lingerie Mystery series
by author Meg London.

You also know Meg as Peg Cochran author of the
Gourmet De-Lite Mystery series
and the Lucille Mazzarella Mystery series.

Why am I talking about the Sweet Nothings series if it started
in 2012 and a new title was released this year?
Because it is one of my favorite all time cozy series
and I found out just a few weeks ago that is has been dropped and there will be no new ones. :-(

There are 3 books in this wonderful series.

Sweet Nothings has it all: silk ribbon, Venetian lace, the best bra fitter in town…
and two unsolved murders.

Emma Taylor thought she knew what to expect when she abandoned life as a big-city fashionista to help her aunt, Arabella, breathe new style into Sweet Nothings, her waning lingerie boutique. As Emma settles back in to Paris, Tennessee—a world where pie is served with a parable and a pitcher of sweet tea is the cure for most of life’s ills—her escape seems smooth as silk.

But when the town acquires a touch of unneeded je ne sais quoi with the arrival of Emma’s philandering ex, an unseemly murder turns her world inside out. As the police’s top suspect, Emma is going to need more than fishnets to snare the real killer. And when she and Arabella refuse to let death threats wrapped in knifed nighties stall Sweet Nothings’ vintage lingerie fashion show, it becomes increasingly clear that any garter may hide a gun and that bullet bras might have to live up to their name…

You’re invited to the Sweet Nothings trunk show. See what the shop has to offer, taste some wonderful food, catch up with friends, and solve a murder…

Emma Taylor is happy to be drawing in customers at her aunt Arabella’s lingerie shop, Sweet Nothings, but replacing the store’s broken window is going to cost a small fortune. Hoping to hoist up their sagging profits, Arabella arranges to have a trunk show at the home of a local socialite who will invite all of her friends and take care of the catering. All Emma and Arabella have to do is show up and show off their wares. Seems simple enough…

A gorgeous spread is prepared for the event, including delicious cupcakes topped with edible flowers. But after one of the partygoers takes a bite and winds up dead, the guest list becomes a suspect list. Now Emma must separate facts from idle gossip before the killer gives the cops the slip…

From selling camisoles to solving crimes, the ladies of the Sweet Nothings lingerie shop in Paris, Tennessee, will make this Valentine’s a day to remember…

For Valentine’s Day, Emma Taylor and her aunt Arabella have organized a special evening for men only to shop for their sweethearts in the Sweet Nothings lingerie shop, complete with champagne and hors d’oeuvres. But when a former valentine shows up, Aunt Arabella is not her usual bubbly self.

Art dealer Hugh Granger is still a charmer, though. He invites the women to a ball he’s having to celebrate his birthday and his return to Paris, Tennessee. But when Granger is pushed from the balcony, it paints a sinister picture for Aunt Arabella, who gets framed…for her old flame’s murder.

These titles are still available in paperback,
and also on Nook and Kindle.

This is a wonderful series with very engaging characters. Knowing that there will not be a new one honestly made me sad.  It's like I said "See you later" to dear friends only to never see them again.

There are so many books I haven't read, that I very seldom re-read a book. But I will be re-reading the Sweet Nothings series. I'm not ready to say goodbye.

Have you read this series?
What are your thoughts on it?

If you are a fan like me I would like to ask you a favor. Would you please write/email
Penguin (Prime Crime) and let them know how much your loved this series.

If you haven't read this series it yet, please do and judge for yourself just how delightful it is.

Remember to check back every Thursday
for more great Throwback cozy titles!

Answer to Whodunit Wednesday

BELL, BOOKE, OR KENDALL? - Solution

"It was the intern", Wilson guessed.

Sherman looked surprise. "No, of course not. There was no thief."

"Sure there was. Mr. Boren told us . . ." The sergeant's eyes widened. "Oh!"

"Precisely. I don't know why Arvin Boren wanted to kill his vice president, but it had nothing to do with stolen plans. He killed Silver in the copy room, then he found a witness and 'discovered' the body. Boren made up that story about Silver trying to catch the thief and, of course, Silver wasn't around to contradict him."

   "What made you suspect Boren?"

"I suspected from the beginning, but I had no proof. So I made up a story about the plans having to be in the mail chute. Boren needed to preserve the illusion of a thief, so he grabbed a set of plans and tossed them down the chute. That's the only way to explain why the plans are on top of the yellow envelopes instead of underneath them."

I was stumped yet again.
Did you guess right?

Check out Whodunit Wednesday next week
for another fun adventure!

  1. Oh my, another author to look for! :)

I missed the clue about the plans being on top of the mail...so, stumped me, too.

  4. YAY - I figured out the clue!
My choosing the owner, Mr. Boren, was simply a guess, but it still makes me happy that I had some idea.
