Anyone in Cottonwood knows
that Vivian Lowry is always tootin’ her horn about her chicken pot pie. Unless
you’ve been living under a rock, no offense to Sterling Stinnett, then you’ve
been to a funeral repass and have tried Mrs. Lowry’s casserole.
But is it good enough for the
Culinary Channel?
That’s right folks, you read
it here first. Vivian Lowry really does have a reason to walk around town with
all her feathers cocked out. She’s been named a finalist to be featured on the
cable channel’s own Southern Home Cookin’
show with a viewership of over twenty-million viewers a week.
What does that mean for
Cottonwood? That means that for a few days, Cottonwood will be in the national
spotlight. The Culinary Channel is sending world renowned Chef Frank Von Lee to
taste Vivian’s chicken pot pie. From Cottonwood, he’ll go to a bar-b-que joint
over in Clay’s Ferry that’s going to go up against the chicken pot pie.
Frank Von Lee is schedule to
make an appearance at Ben’s Diner at 11 a.m. and from what I hear, there’s
going to be a big welcome party. So be sure you get in line early and have your
camera ready. Don’t worry, I’ll be there to document and photograph it all for
the Chronicle.
If you know Viv Lowry, like I
know Viv Lowry, the fowl will kick the pigs you know what and she’ll come out
on top.
