DEATH OF A BAD APPLE
Book 3 in the Food Festival Mystery series
by Penny Pike

Anxious to take a break from bustling San Francisco, Darcy and her Aunt Abby pack up the food truck and head for the apple festival at Apple Valley, California. Aunt Abby is sure her almond apple tarts will be a hit and Darcy wants to collect more recipes for her food truck cookbook.

But when a fellow guest at the Enchanted Apple Inn is pared-down—and the Inn’s owner ends up the prime suspect—Darcy must peel away the layers of the mystery. Because an apple a day certainly isn’t keeping the killer away...

MY REVIEW

I have enjoyed this series since book one, DEATH OF A CRABBY COOK, and it just keeps getting better. DEATH OF A BAD APPLE was such a delicious read, I wanted seconds!

Author Penny Pike has created such a delightful series with the Food Festival Mysteries. With characters like Darcy Burnett, her Aunt Abby, the rest of the supporting, as well as new ones introduced for each book, Ms. Pike writes multi-layered characters that read very real.

I adore the idea of converting an old school bus into a food truck, or as Abby would say, a busterant. Abby is living out one of my dreams, but mine would be a cupcake truck. ;-)

As with the first two books in the series, DEATH OF A BAD APPLE is a real page turner that is extremely well written, with a great plot and a killer reveal.

This is one mystery you’re going to want to take a bite out of!

Wonderful recipe, and an excerpt from HOW TO HOST A KILLER PARTY (written as Penny Warner) are included at the back of the book.
