A WATERY DEATH
Blog Tour
and
Giveaway!

I'm so happy to be a stop on
authors Joyce & Jim Lavene's blog tour for
A WATERY DEATH
Book 7 in the Missing Pieces Mystery series

It’s the Fourth of July weekend in Duck, North Carolina and twenty-thousand visitors are on hand to enjoy the parade, the festivities – and learn about the murder of Captain Bill Lucky. Lucky is the captain of the new gambling ship, Andalusia II, which is modeled after the famous ghost ship that haunts the small town on the Outer Banks. Whispers of unusual sea creatures surround Lucky’s death. It isn’t the first time that mermaids have been seen in Duck, but it’s the first time one of them has been accused of murder. Mayor Dae O’Donnell has her hands full with setting up the parade, convincing her friend Trudy she shouldn’t call off her wedding, and getting her shop, Missing Pieces, ready for the summer crowd. Dae doesn’t ask to be involved in Lucky’s death, but she can’t ignore it. If someone from the sea isn’t his killer, who is? And will he or she strike again to lay the blame on the town’s watery visitors?

MY REVIEW

For those of you who haven’t read this series, you’d be doing yourself a favor to do so. I only follow a handful of cozy series that have any sort of a paranormal feel to them. Or as I like to call them…Paracozies. Out of the ones I do follow, most of them are by Joyce & Jim Lavene. These authors have a wonderful flare for making the paranormal feel like every day, common place occurrences.

Every trip I take to Duck, North Carolina, courtesy of the Lavene’s Missing Pieces Mystery series, is better than the trip before. But this visit was truly enchanting and adventurous. After all, what could be more exciting than a mermaid and a ship’s captain who is just like every romantic hero from a high seas adventure story. Perhaps a mermaid killing that sexy sea captain? Honestly, there was so intrigue in this book, I found myself literally holding my breath.

In my opinion, A WATERY DEATH is the best installment in this series to date. As far as creating a must read story, the Lavene’s raise the bar on themselves with every new book they write.

A WATERY DEATH is a fun summer read for die hard fans of the Missing Pieces Mystery series and to new comers alike. And don’t worry new readers, you won’t feel lost starting the series with this book, but once you’re done reading, it will make you want to go back and start the series from the beginning.
