As you may remember, at the end of June, I took a week long series of daycations with my sisters, Darlene and Tammie. Or, as I had been calling it . . .
Tammie's Birthday Extravelganza!

Daycations are when we get in the car in the morning and head off for a planned destination or sometimes just head in a direction and find what we find.

We had a fabulous time! It's always fun to travel with my sisters. I really is one of my favorite things in life.

Here are some of the photos I captured. For the most part, I was having so much fun, I forgot to take pics!

(Spending more time having senior moment memory, I honestly can't remember the order of where we went when.) So, I'll put the location on
top of the group of photos.

NOTE: The three of us aren't much for having out pictures taken which is why you won't see any. I did manage to get a couple of my sisters.

ASSATEGUE ISLAND, MARYLAND

There are times you can go to the island and never see a horse. Then there were days like this one. Since they're wild ponies, you're not allowed to touch or feed them, no matter how tempted you are to do so.

My favorite photo from the entire

BERLIN, MARYLAND

This is a go cart course. Tam has been wanting to go to one for some time now. I don't do well in extreme heat at all. (And trust me, it ended up being an extreme heat week up until the last couple of days.)
So, Darlene and Tammie did the cars and some boats. They had fun but looked like they were ready to faint by the time they got back to the car.

LANCASTER COUNTY, PENSYLVANIA

One of my very favorite places to go to. I refer to it as my happy place. That's not an exaggeration. When our car hits the first hill (Delaware is a flat state), I can feel my stress melt away.

Lancaster County and the surrounding area covers towns like Strasburg, Lancaster, Intercourse, Bird-in-Hand, Paradise, Lititz, Ephrata, Gap, Quarryville, and more. We hit most of them every time we go.

I captured a picture of Darlene and Tammie in the wild!

Having bathrooms mapped out for potty and freshen up breaks, are a must

Not needing a break this stop, I spent some time doing what I love.

Another pit stop.

One of the scariest places on our trip. Would you shop at this butcher shop?

However, the scariest place was a place where they rent cabins. We've been wanting to stay a week or ten days in Lancaster County, and since we will be taking Emma with us, a cozy cabin seemed just the thing. I won't mention the name or and I didn't take photos because there were people staying there. Now, I'm not a snob. Not in the least. However, I do want to feel safe.

SAINT MICHAELS, MARYLAND

A beautiful waterside town, Saint Michaels is where my parent honeymooned.

OXFORD, MARYLAND

I have heard so much about this bookstore, Mystery Love Company, and was looking forward to checking it out. Sadly, it was closed the day we were there. 😕

These last two photos sum up just about every day trip we've ever taken since I was a kid. The back of the car has a huge cooler fool of ice with drinks, lunchmeat, many different cheeses, and sometime fruit (other times the fruit would be bananas). The only difference is that Mom was the one in the back fixing plates for us. Now, my sister Darlene has taken it over.
Back in the day when Mom was still with us, we'd normally eat at picnic tables. But we didn't have heat like this back then. I have no complaints about being in the car with the AC!

BACK ON HOME TURF

A couple of our days back home, we stopped at our
favorite ice cream shop before heading home.

I hope you enjoy the photos.
Next time, I will try and take more.

    1. We had a great time! I always do when I'm off and about with my two favorite sisters. Luckily we only live about an hour and a half from the bookstore, so we'll go back one day.
