 BOOK TOUR

I'm so excited to be a stop on the blog tour for
PAWS FOR ALARM
Book 2 in Canine Confections Mysteries
by Amy Hueston

One murder is bad enough …

But two murders in a month on the same strip of Worth Avenue in Palm Beach is enough to whip Samantha Armstrong into a frenzy.

When Samantha relaxes into her new role as a dog mom, finds a circle of friends in her new hometown, and sees her new dog bakery Canine Confections barking up business, she’s thrilled that things are going so well … until she hears a bloodcurdling scream from the pastry shop two doors down and runs over to find a dead body on the floor.

Suddenly Samantha finds herself in a race against time to find not only the thief who is stealing from the upscale shops, but a murderer, too. Samantha’s Lab-Mix Sweet Pea wags her tail through all of the clues, suspects and shenanigans. Both Samantha and Sweet Pea are aided in their amateur investigation by the other shopkeepers on the elegant Worth Avenue, and Samantha finds the suspect list growing at every turn.

To make matters worse, Samantha’s old boyfriend arrives in town, and mysterious people start showing up at the Sophisticated Pet and New Age stores nearby. Samantha soon finds that things are not what they seem, and she must figure out what’s going on—or become the next dead body on a bakery floor.

Includes an original recipe from the world-famous Three Dog Bakery!

I Sing

By

Amy Hueston

I sing, and I don’t mean in the shower. (In fact, I rarely sing in the shower.) When I say I sing, I mean I get hired to sing. So yeah, I sing mostly on-key and only sometimes make up the words as I go along. I’ve sung on stages and in studios. One of my favorite jobs was singing on Aruba, and the reason it is one of my favorites is not only because of the highly-professional stage production and glamorous casino. Or the crystal water and divi divi trees that grow sideways instead of straight up. Nope, it was one of my favorite jobs because of the cast with whom I worked. We had the best time, not only on stage but backstage. In fact, I’m still friends with many of them now. Another favorite job was singing on a Coca Cola commercial. I loved working in the cozy nook of a recording studio with a microphone and headphones, hearing only the background music and having to sing Every. Single. Note. Exactly on pitch and with the right nuances. A third favorite is a CD/Download I sang on called Let’s Talk Love. The guy who created it happens to be my brother Gary Haase, and he’s also worked with Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, and a lot of other wildly-famous folks, so I’m really lucky. And here’s where the reading community comes in…

I’m thinking of making videos to go along with the four songs and asking readers for their pet pictures, because for example, one of the songs is called “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Your Face.” How cute would that be, to see cat, dog and other animal faces on a video as the song plays? And READERS’ pets, the pets of the readers I meet and talk to on Facebook, Insta and Twitter! I just think that would be so much fun to see furry or feathery faces, and learn their names and hear about their personalities.

Meeting new people and animals is one of the most fun things about writing my Canine Confections series. New customers come in to the dog bakery on the fancy Worth Avenue, and we get to hear how the dogs and their people met, and gather intel on important things, like if peanut butter truly is a dog’s best friend. So merging singing with dogs and writing by including readers’ pets would be very fun for me.

What do you think, readers? Sound fun to you too?

  2. Can't wait for the opportunity to read "PAWS FOR ALARM" by Amy Hueston which most definitely is on my TBR list.

Love the idea of recording pets and playing that along with the songs. Snickerdoodle is such a ham and would fit right in.
