CHIME AND PUNISHMENT by Julianne Holmes
DRESSED TO CONFESS by Diane Vallere

CHIME AND PUNISHMENT
Book 3 in the Clock Shop Mysteries
by Julianne Holmes

Expert clockmaker Ruth Clagan has another murder on her hands in the third Clock Shop Mystery from the author of Clock and Dagger.

Years ago, the serenity of picturesque Orchard, Massachusetts, was shattered by a fire that destroyed the town's beloved clock tower. Ruth inherited the dream of repairing it from her late grandfather. Now that she’s returned home to run his clock shop, the Cog & Sprocket, she’s determined to make it happen, despite wrenches that are being thrown into the works by her least favorite person, town manager Kim Gray.

A crowd of residents and visitors are excited to see the progress of the tower at a fund-raiser for the campaign, until Kim is found crushed under the tower’s bell, putting an end to all the fun. The list of suspects is so long it could be read around the clock, and it includes some of Ruth’s nearest and dearest.

Time's a-wastin’ as Ruth tries to solve another murder in her beloved Orchard while keeping the gears clicking on her dream project.

MY REVIEW

Readers are in for a great time with this latest installment in the Clock Shop Mysteries.

I’ve adored this series from the beginning. The characters, the setting, everything about it is simple perfection.  It has only gotten better with each new book. And who knew learning about clocks could be so interesting?

Author Julianne Holmes sure does deliver a first rate, gripping read with this tale. Truly a fast paced mystery with a solid plot, CHIME AND PUNISHMENT had me questioning everything, and second guessing myself more than once.

Even though I didn’t like the character who was murdered, I was so into finding out who the killer was I didn’t notice the room around me had gone from light to almost too dark to read. Definitely a first rate, don’t miss whodunit!

It’s time to stop watching the clock, because CHIME AND PUNISHMENT is the book you’ve been waiting for!

MY REVIEW

Nothing can disguise just how fantastic the Costume Shop Mysteries are!

This was a series I was looking forward to for a couple of reasons. 1) I’ve always enjoyed dressing up in costume for Halloween. It’s fun to get to be someone else for a while. 2) Author Diane Vallere. I adore the way this lady writes. She truly makes reading an adventure. She has a fun, quirky side that always adds something extra to her stories.

The Costume Shop Mystery series has a fabulous cast of characters. They range from down to earth to way out there. I’ve had a great time watching them grow from book one until now, and I look forward to many more stories about them.

In DRESSED TO CONFESS, the town of Proper City, Nevada is holding the Sagebrush Festival with a theme of board games. I thought the idea was fantastic! I wish cozy authors planned events for my town.

Of course, you can’t have a cozy mystery without the well, mystery. ;-) And the murder of one of the “Domino Divas” was a well thought out mystery that had more twists than Chutes and Ladders. I rolled the dice trying to guess this whodunit, but I kept rolling Craps. When I finally read the reveal, it was a complete surprise to me.

Between the incredible story, to the recipes and costume party idea complete with costume suggestions, DRESSED TO CONFESS is a first place book!

Both of these great titles are now available!

  3. Howdy this is somewhat of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use
WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding expertise so I wanted to
get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
